This year, more than ever before, your dues are sorely needed! Where we normally have 250 or more new and renewing members each year, we only had 57 members in 2020. The Association is dependent on dipnetters for political clout as well as funding for the various projects we undertake to keep the Copper River personal use dipnet fishery viable.
The December, 2020, Board of Fish meeting in Cordova was postponed until 2021 due to COVID-19. CDA will be at the meeting to represent Copper River personal use dipnetters that decides Prince William Sound/Copper River Finfish allocation issues and regulation changes for the next three years. BOF makes decisions based on proposals presented by the public. It is essential that we are represented as many of the proposals have direct negative effects on our fishery! Additionally, a CDA proposal to extend our fishing area south of the current Haley Creek limit to better accommodate those fishing from boats must be defended if it has any chance to succeed.
All sales proceeds and dues are dedicated to the Chitina Dipnetters Association goal: protecting and enhancing the Chitina personal use dipnet fishery. The all-volunteer board of directors can’t make this happen without your support!
